Peacefully on December 14, 2014 in Pontiac Reception Centre, Shawville, Quebec at the age of 84 years.  Dear son of the late Patrick Stafford and Elizabeth Hearty.  Funeral Service may be held in Vinton in the New Year.  Johnny worked for the International Harvester dealer in Campbell’s Bay, then for Charlie Moore for 20 years before taking his retirement.

Peacefully in Manoir Sacre Coeur, Mansfield, Quebec on December 10, 2014 at the age of 79 years.  Beloved wife of the late Leo Lamarche.  Loving mother of Jerry (Diane), Gary (Nicole), Darlene (Brad), Diane, George (late Kathy), Beverly (Jeff), Justin (Tracy) and predeceased by Carl, Barry and Terry.  She will be missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Dear sister of Ella and predeceased by Laurin, Jean-Baptiste, Peter and Claire.  Funeral will be held in St. Alphonsus Church, Chapeau, Quebec on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11 a.m.  Interment in the Spring.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.  



GORDON, Elsie (nee Dunlop)

In hospital Shawville, Quebec on December 9, 2014 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Gordon. Predeceased by her brothers John (late Grace) and George (late Doreen) Dunlop and sisters Myrtle (late Raymond Maloney), Sadie (late Edwin Pirie), Lillian (late Ken Hodgins) and Gladys (late Roland Metcalfe). Admired and loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by many friends and neighbours,  members of the Women’s Institute,  Orange Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as by her faithful companion Boots, her beloved Chihuahua. HEARTY, ARNOLD

In Pontiac Community Hospital, the youngest of sixteen children, gone to be re-united with his parents Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Quinn and William James Hearty and his deceased siblings; Angus (late Winnifred O’Brien), Gertrude (late Guy Romain), Dominic (Clara Holland, Winnipeg, MB), Rita (late Aloysius McGuire), Genevieve (late Richard Hearty), Carmel (late Leo Donnelly), Lorenzo and three cherished siblings who died in infancy. Arnold is survived by his brother Darcy (late Florence Pleau), Campbell’s Bay, Bertha (late Lionel Demers), Aylmer, Muriel (late Carl Carlson), Aylmer, Marina (late James Chugg), Campbell’s Bay and Merrill (Lorraine Sullivan), Lawless Lake. Arnold will be deeply mourned and forever loved by his surviving siblings, nieces and nephews and his many friends and neighbours. At Arnold’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Vinton, Quebec on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment parish cemetery. ERFLE, Hulda

BELLAND, Philip

Philip passed away peacefully at the Laurier Manor, Ottawa, Ontario on November 28, 2014 one day shy of his 69th birthday.  Beloved husband of the late Doris Black, of Ottawa.  Beloved brother of William (Doreen), Gilbert (Sheryl), Donald (Madelaine), Annette (Roger), Faye (Donald) and the late Georgette (James Newberry).  Philip was born on November 29, 1946 to the late William Belland Sr. and Rosa St-Pierre.  Philip will be sadly missed by many nephews and nieces.  A special thank you to the staff at Laurier Manor for taking special care of Philip.  Philip (aka Dick) was a man of all trades who loved to joke around and give anyone a hand in need,  He spent many days with nephews Luke, James and Vince sharing laughter and joy arguing over hockey teams!  You're in heaven now Dick, proudly wearing your wings which you earned throughout your life.  Private funeral arrangements.

Passed away in Marionhill, Pembroke, on November 23rd,  2014 at the age of 86 years. Loving mother of Deanna Ranger (Wesley), David (Barbara), Debbie (Tim), Bernadine and John (Sandy). Predeceased by son Gary and brother Arthur. Loved by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family graveside service.



PROULX, Kelvin

Of Clarendon, Quebec passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 53 years after a brave battle with cancer. Kelvin was born on August 8, 1961, the beloved eldest son of Doris J. Proulx (nee Thompson) of Ottawa and the late James Earl Proulx. Dear husband of Joanne Proulx (nee Boulton) and step-father to Allen Christopher Contois of Winnipeg. Special brother of Lana Leigh (Morris Leonard), Camelia (David Aplin), and Desmond Proulx. Cherished uncle of Declan Nicholas Aplin, Maxwell Earl and Camelia Tatiana Fortin-Proulx There will be a private family service. A celebration of Kelvin's life will be announced at a later date. LEPINE-JOLICOEUR, Annie (nee Dubeau)

It is with great sadness that the family of Annie Alice Lepine Jolicoeur announces her sudden passing in Renfrew, at the Bonnechere Manor, on November 10, 2014, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Lucien Jolicoeur and the late Rodolph Lepine (1981).  Cherished mother of Fernande (Lorne) Storie and Fernand (Carmen) Lepine. Grandmother to Lisa (Greg) Hannam,  Jill (Steve) Staye and Ian (Tanya) Lepine.  Step-grandmother to Tania Gauthier (Neil) and Tina Gauthier (Dereck).  Affectionately known as “Nanny” to Luke, Cole and Owen Hannam, Lauren and Lawson Staye, Vanessa, Nicolas, Ethan and Makayla.

Annie had a tremendous love for her family. She was proud to be one of 15 children to grow up in a close knit family from Otter Lake. She will be sadly missed by sisters Gertrude Dagenais, Alice (Hubert) Desjardins and Denise (Oscar) Tourangeau and brother Maurice Dubeau.  Predeceased by parents Narcisse and Gertrude Dubeau, her brothers Raymond, John, Daniel, Lawrence, Fred, Ronald and Gerald and her sisters Dora, Mona and Theresa.  She will be remembered by her many, many nieces and nephews.  Annie always knew "all the news" about her family and was especially proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Annie was an outgoing and strong-spirited lady.  Throughout her life she was a very hard worker, and also had a very strong faith.  She loved to be surrounded by people, enjoyed  music, dancing and a good laugh.

ENGVIK, Else

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Else on Sunday, June 19, 2014.  Else was born on August 12, 1918 in Alesund, Norway. She immigrated to Canada where she worked as a lab technician in the medical field, before retiring to Calumet Island. Else was known for her love of cats and the outdoors. A graveside service will be held at Dunraven Cemetery, Calumet Island, Quebec, on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

Epoux bien aime de Marie-Anne Jolicoeur.  Chère frère de Margaret (Ralph Durrell), Alexander (Ann), Raymond, Kathleen (Donald Belec), Clarence (Linda), Irene (Roger Berube), Garry (Melanie), Hellen (Jean-Guy Soucie), Connie (Gerry Labelle) et Theresa (Ron Soucie). Peacefully, at the Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, P.Q. on Sunday November 2nd in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Nelson N. Angus. Cherished mother to Blair (Nancy), Blaine (Erica), Peter and Chris. Admired and loved by her 9 grandchildren, Shealyn, Katrina, David, Justin, Daniel, Ben, Holly, Chelsea & Jayden. Terry is survived by her sisters, Rean Brennan (late Bernie), Louise Mason (late Jerry), Catherine Durelle (late Harold) and half brother Oland Schofield (Bev).  Predeceased by sisters Phoebe Duplessis (late Ted), Viola Manuel (late Tim), Donalda Thibault (Lou) and brother Robert Jenkins. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Dora Buckley (late Art). Predeceased by brother- in- law Donald Angus (late Enid). Daughter of the late Donald Jenkins and Barbara Thibeau of Baie Ste Anne, N.B.  She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Terry was a dedicated nurse. She graduated from the nursing program at The Hotel Dieu Hospital in Bathurst, N.B. in 1952 and after working briefly in Fort Erie, Ont. she came to Shawville in March 1955 and worked passionately at the Pontiac Community Hospital until she retired in 1992. STEWART, Russell

Passed away suddenly at his home on September 30th, 2014 at the age of 62 years.  Beloved companion of Valarie and husband of Kathleen Stewart.  Predeceased by his loving parents, Arthur and June (nee Bulcock) Stewart.  Survived by his brothers and sisters Gregory (Helene), Douglas (Mary), Donna (Ron) and Judy (Ken), as well as 9 nieces & nephews  and 15 great nieces & nephews. Russell worked for Bell Canada and held various positions as Technician, Steward, Chief Steward and VP of CEP Local 27.  He was also Union Councillor and Arbitrator.  Russ was a delegate to Toronto and York Region Labour Council and Ontario Federation of Labour and was a strong activist for labour rights and social justice. Russ was also a member of the Council of Canadians and lobbyist for the Ontario minimum wage. Russ was a real cat lover as he worked with Animal Aide Pontiac and shared his home with numerous rescue cats.  Much loved and respected, Russ fought the good fight for what he believed in and for the rights of others - both human and animal.  Russ enjoyed life fully and will be sorely missed by his family, friends, colleagues at Bell and union brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or any charitable organization of your choice will be appreciated.

Died peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec, on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Keith was predeceased by his wife Mona. Loving father of Judy and Paul (Angela).  Cherished Grandpa of Natalie (McGyver Barber), Rachel (Matt Kluke), Travis (Trish Racine) and Nicholas. Great grandfather of Blake, Max and Allanah. Survived by sister Leuella (late Edgar Alexander) and brother Bruce (Lillian).  Keith will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Keith loved the outdoors. He loved to spend time at Brule Lake, fishing and moose hunting with his friends and Paul. Farming was his passion. He lived to work the fields and care for his animals. Keith will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. She leaves behind her loving family, daughter Kitty (John Gibb), grandchildren Holly (Chris Heidel), Matthew (Kevin Glass), Chrissy (Andrew Lang) and Leslie (Stephen Gibb). Her four beautiful great grandchildren Gibbson and Elliott Lang, Sara Heidel and Zoe Gibb always brought a smile to her heart.  Predeceased by parents Theodore Hodgins and Kate McLean.  Alice spent her career as a teacher in many Quebec communities and worked in the supply depot in Halifax during World War ll. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at this time. She will be in our hearts forever.

Cherished grandmother of Austin, Korbin, Cody and Kiersten.  Daughter of Mona and Germain Guindon.  Dear sister of Diane (Earl Ricard), Linda (Dave Schinkel), Leonard, Eric (Beverley) and predeceased by Roger Guindon.  Sister-in-law of Dawn (Terry Dolan) and Brent (Lucienne) and predeceased by Della.  Cremation.  There will be no visitation.  Mass will take place in St. James the Greater Church, Portage du Fort, Quebec on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m.  Interment Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec on Sunday August 24, 2014 at the age of 87 years.  Beloved wife of the late Gerald Gauthier. Loving mother of Sherry and Rocky.  Dear sister of Romeo, Bryan and Denyse Kohlsmith.  Predeceased by brother Sylvio and sister Lucille (Harold Howard). Cherished grandmother of Star, Nicholas and Vincent.  Cremation has taken place. No visitation or service.
